chloe                      Chloe

Chloe came to us as a rescue dog, from a heart breaking background, kept in a barn with over a dozen dogs, she had not seen daylight, played or been socialised with people until she was rescued.

She has had her fare share of ill heath, probably owing to her poor nutrition and care as a young dog, she has undergone major spinal surgery twice, has very few teeth and is loosing her sight in one eye but she is a funny little dog, with a unique personality and very wilful. She keeps the younger dogs in line and doesn’t seem to let her size stop her, In fact she uses it to her advantage and nips underneath the bigger dogs to clean up any scraps they leave behind. Chloe at approximately 14 years old now enjoys sleeping in warm places, she can be found curled up with any of the other dogs she doesn’t seem to have a favourite as long as she can snuggle up to them she is happy.

kya2Kya

Kya was a Manchester dogs home rescue, She grew up with Jesse, as teenagers they became the terrible two, Kya is cheeky and surprises me most days, she has as permanent “it wasn’t me aren’t I cute expression” she enjoys the company of her canine friends and any mischief they can get up to, but equally will lie upside down like a baby having her tummy tickled for hours.

Kya however does not like swimming unless it is the height of summer and even then she only wades but gets most annoyed at the other dogs for not playing with her.

Kya enjoys puppy time she is not sure when they are very small, but when they can play kya grabs the opportunity and bounces around with them, she is very good at teaching puppies were to draw the line on chewing her, with her terrier like coat and skinny legs she has limits as to how much acupuncture she is willing to undergo at one time, and will simply warn the pups that enough is enough, it seems to do the trick and then their of again rolling all over each other and playing tag.

baily

Baily

Baily is an RSPCA rescue he suffered separation anxiety when originally living with my brother and came here for some doggy day-care and rehab, he has been the most challenging of dogs, he has a wonderful sloppy nature, but catches me out  by pinching something of the kitchen side, weather it’s a tea towel or old milk bottle he will reach up pinch it and chew it into a million pieces, then takes himself of to his bed, he to has an it wasn’t me expression but his long legs and athletic build give it away as only he can reach.

Baily definitely considers himself  head of security and shows his German Shepard traits when guarding the house, he is a little cautious of strangers and  likes to do a full background check and analysis on any visitors before he gives them the thumbs up, he considers the rest of the pack as being “his girls”.

Around puppies he is a star, they absolutely adore him, climbing all over him, pulling his tail and mouthing his ears he laps it up, and never complains although at times you can see him wincing, but don’t let on you’ve noticed, he’s a big tough guy you know.

Chopper

Chopper is defiantly the joker of the pack; don't let his looks decei
ve you he is an absolute love, extremely loyal and a big strapping pussy cat. Chopper joined Chris's pack in 2007 as a young adult, he had a shaky start in life and although loved was in the wrong hands, he had no guidance and entertained himself chewing fire doors and central heating systems, he had no idea that all four legs needed to contact the floor, he did everything at a million miles an hour without thinking and suffered severe separation anxiety. Chris admits he’s been the most challenging of dogs to rehabilitate, the ups and downs have all been well worth all the effort and chopper now adores his dad, em I mean human pack leader, he is now  well balanced, reliable and always up for a game of tug or a cuddle, he has swapped doors for Kong’s and radiators for his much loved ball. Chopper sees each new day as a fresh start and opens up negotiations with a twinkle in his eye whenever he feels a discussion should be had, over what he should and should not be doing, no matter what, chopper makes sure that his point is heard and is always looking for a compromise that he will find.  Chopper is very gentle but cautious around the puppies, he prefers to watch from a distance but is soon at their side if one gets in trouble with the rest of the pack, chopper is everyone’s pal, whoever’s up for charging around the garden, digging or a game of tugger is choppers best friend, the younger dogs look to him for confidence and guidance. chopper has taught his teachers as much as he has learnt from us  and is now an absolute treasure, there not a day goes by we don’t laugh at his antics, you will certainly never forget him because he makes himself well known with his immense stock of kisses that can be delivered at any given time no matter what you thought you were doing, he’s the life and sole of the pack, an instigator that we could not live without.

Buster

buster_kiss
Buster was chris's first rescue dog and instantley  fixed himself firlmly to chris side as a young pup, everywhere chris went, Buster was with him, through thick and thin he helped chris during some very stressfull life changing situations without buster even knowing, forwhich there are not enough bones in the world to repay him, Buster really is one in a million and without him, Chris wouldnt be the half the person he is today.  Buster is chris's cheif canine taster for chris's culanary inventions which are much loved throughout the pack and requested by family, friends and colleugues, If buster doenst like it, ITs of the menu, when visiters come to meet the pack on many occasions they have left with a muddy paw prints, hairy cloths and a full belly chris and buster style. Busters role within the pack is to be everyones friend and mentor, Kisses are Busters get out of jail free card, we reckon he must clock up several thousand a day and if that doesnt work he has his I'm so innocent expression with a little flick of his tail that will challange anyone to stay mad at him, we know we struggle. Buster loves playing with the pups when they are old enogh for a little rough and tumble but is a little bemused by them when they are tiny. He loves showing himself off and playing with millie our canine cat, he walks perfectley off lead at heal however he carnt contain his excitment when he spots a new friend, on many occasions he has shot off and introduced himself, but soon returns with a big wag and a smile on his face, proud he has played the role of staffie ambasaodre well. Buster loves the car and puts greats effort and consentration into staring out of the window, he lets everyone know when in his opinion there is something exciting to look at, in true staffie style he lets out a high pitched shreaking purr. Buster is particularly fond of jesse and can regularly be seen being groomed from nose to tail and god help him if he doesnt sit still whilst jesse  is mothering him. Chris and buster are still like peas in a pod there's no man nor beast that could break their bond.
